We are excited to have the Taste Tweed Festival 2019 – officially LAUNCHED!
Surrounded by sponsors, media and local producers, Festival Director Jayne Henry and her team launched the festival with cooking demonstrations, and tastings – all pool side at Peppers Salt Resort and Spa.
Now in its seventh year, there is a full and exciting program for 2019 with tours, tastings, lunches, dinners, markets, cooking masterclasses and fashion events – with most being free to enter! Ticketed events sell out quickly so make sure you jump onto the Taste Tweed website or download our App (Taste Tweed) on Google and iTunes.
Here is how the first week of Taste Tweed is looking …
Friday 5th July
We kick this years’ Taste Tweed Festival with the Kingscliff Night Market – Taste Tweed Style. Running from 4pm, come along and grab dinner from our awesome street food vans, whilst enjoying live music, shopping and warm up with a glass of mulled wine from the Barefoot Bar at the Surf Club – FREE entry.
Also on Friday 5th is the Taverna Taste the Tweed Dinner. Come along and enjoy a special set menu of locally sourced produce, showcasing the best the Tweed has to offer. Tickets are $59pp and bookings are essential and made direct with Taverna.
Saturday 6th july
Gather your foodie friends and join us for a Lazy Long Lunch at Season Restaurant, featuring wine regions from around Australia.
You will be treated to a mystery 6-course lunch served to share with your friends or family.

Turn lunch into dinner with the Taste Tweed Signature Dinner – with Hay Shed Hill Wines.
Join us for a memorable evening hosted by Hay Shed Hill Wines. Indulge in a 5-course degustation menu designed by the award-winning Season team using the local regions finest produce and matching wines.

Sunday 7th july
Celebrate World Chocolate Day (YES … there is such a thing!) at Tropical Fruit World. Enjoy much deliciousness from the cafe and learn all about Black Sapote … also known as Chocolate Fruit! There is a heaven! Free Entry.
We couldn’t have a Taste Tweed Festival without a Tweed River Cruise! This year, the Taphouse Twilight Cruise is not to be missed. Enjoy a locally produced grazing platter and complimentary brews from the Pickled Pig Brewery whilst taking in the views of Mt Warning at sunset. After the cruise, your 2-course dinner is served at The Kingy Pub.

If you prefer a lazy Sunday night, the Kingscliff Beach Hotel have their Pizza Night … So many options! Oh and bookings not required … just turn up.
monday 8th july
Back by popular demand, the Kingscliff Fashion and Food Show returns! Enjoy a fabulous day in Kingscliff by visiting our local designers and fashion houses on Marine Parade. There’s nothing like retail therapy with a glass of 3 of bubbly and tastings from local cafes and restaurants. Finish up with a light lunch – and amazing views – at the Kingscliff Surf Club.

That is only a TASTE (see what we did there) of what to expect during the festival. We are THRILLED to bits to welcome a couple of new events this year … which we just KNOW will sell out, so check them out and secure your spots!
Pipit is a new restaurant by award-winning chef Ben Devlin and is located in Pottsville. It is a celebration of our coastal Tweed lifestyle, with menus inspired by wood-fired cooking and the unique flavour and producers of our region.
Thursday 11th July will be the Pipit Taste Tweed Dinner. Bookings are essential – don’t miss out on this one!
Also new to the program this year is Salt Bar and Bistro. On Friday 12th July, they will be hosting a Beer Meets Gin Dinner on the deck.
Enjoy a gin cocktail on arrival then indulge in a feast perfectly paired with either exclusive Limited Release and Season beers from Stone and Wood or Brookies Gin. You choose your sip!
