Stallholder Information

Welcome to one of Australia’s most unique food festivals, Taste of Kingscliff and Tweed Coast. This month long celebration is designed to showcase our Shire’s best destinations on our coastline and hinterland whilst showcasing our very best food, beer, providores, Chefs, restaurants, cafes, venues and accommodation houses. Staged throughout the month of July at various locations, Taste of Kingscliff and Tweed Coast offers a variety of ticketed and free events to suit people of all ages and walks of life.

Taste of KTC offers stallholders the opportunity to showcase their products and/or businesses to a growing and mixed audience of local, national and international visitors. Having strong support of quality produce and businesses will ensure our continued success and growth into future years.

Taste of KTC is looking for stallholder applications from businesses within Tweed and neighbouring Shires that have original menu options, fresh and unique concepts, and superb stall designs and presentation.

It is important that applicants will demonstrate Australian grown and produced products ONLY and are freshly prepared – preference will be given to applicants with product sourced from Tweed, Byron, Ballina, Lismore and South East Queensland. We do understand that some produce required for menus may not be able to be sourced from within these regions.

Applications that focus on a particular region, through bringing together regional food and beverage producers and/or providers are strongly encouraged to apply. This invitation goes out to local clubs, hotels, cafes and restaurants that operate in our region and are particularly encouraged.

Visitors to our event and our region must be able to experience the specialities of our area with a focus on quality when purchasing at the event. As this event is a ‘TASTE’, there is an expectation that a stallholder will provide a dishes of suitable portion sizes and price and where possible, a tasting portion for packaged products.

Taste of KTC requires stallholders to provide a menu with a few quality dishes of excellent presentation as opposed to an extensive menu. Buyer incentive will be diversity and price of your product as well as menu items. The stall presentation will also make a difference to attraction and purchases at your stall, so attention to detail is beneficial to you.

Taste of KTC requires all food stallholders to provide at least one TASTE PLATE or entrée size plate that is priced at $8 in total (inclusive of GST) or below. Visitors want the opportunity to try the many options available, so smaller and less expensive options are important for our guest’s satisfaction.

Stallholders can be supplied with electricity on site and will be charged separately from site fees. Those requiring the use of gas must supply their own requirements.

Please ensure that you read all the relevant information provided on this website before applying for a stall and understand what is required of you. Relevant information includes our Terms and Conditions and Stallholder Information.
Any further enquiries about applying, please contact the event organiser 0418 720048 or info@tastetweed.com.au

Thank You and we look forward to your application.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE CRITERIA

It is important that applicants will demonstrate Australian grown and produced products ONLY and are freshly prepared – preference will be given to applicants with product sourced from Tweed, Byron, Ballina, Lismore and South East Queensland. We do understand that some produce required for menus may not be able to be sourced from within these regions and of course, are not subject to this rule.

It is important that all stallholders have a commitment to use local produce in the reproduction of their plates and menus. Visitors to our event have an expectation to sample and taste a range of food and beverage that reflects the uniqueness of our region and the use of our fresh and locally sourced and grown produce. They are also looking for diverse options, creative dishes and value for money.

FOOD

Applications that focus on a particular region, through bringing together regional food and beverage producers and/or providers are strongly encouraged to apply. This invitation goes out to local clubs, hotels, cafes and restaurants that operate in our region and are particularly encouraged to participate. Why not match your plate with a beverage and offer combo deals and options.

Applicants should reflect the use of locally grown produce and products in their written menus. As noted earlier, we understand and accept that some produce required for menus may not be able to be sourced from within these regions, however, core ingredients of your produce must be sourced within the specified regions.

This is a tasting event and Taste of KTC encourages all applicants to heed to our portion suggestions, to allow guests to try the many options available. Again, price point is important. We want to see small portions available that are also able to be shared amongst friends and family. It is a ‘tasting event’ so we are looking for options that provide that ‘tasting experience’.

We consider freshness, innovative menu ideas and the cooking methods used.

Visitors to our event and our region must be able to experience the specialties of our area with a focus on quality when purchasing at the event. Remember it is all about meeting and exceeding your customers, or potential customer’s expectations.

BEVERAGE

All wines, boutique beers and other beverages including tea and coffee must be grown and produced in the Northern Rivers, Regional NSW or South East Queensland. We have no interest to promote or allow the sale of cleanskins, or for wholesalers or shop retailers to sell beverages at our event.

There is to be no glass on site other than large wine bottles.

PORTION PRICE

Taste of KTC requires all food stallholders to provide at least ONE TASTE PLATE or entrée size plate that is priced at $8 in total (inclusive of GST) or below. Visitors want the opportunity to try the many options available, so smaller and less expensive options are important for our guest’s satisfaction.

Taste of Kingscliff and Tweed Coast recommends wine be sold by the glass to be a reflection of the bottle price. Minimum price for wine sold by the glass is $5. Prices of all beverages must be included in your application. Taste of KTC outdoor wine glasses are available at cost ($6) to stall holders to offer guests as an alternative to plastic cups.
